A New Family

Hello First Baptist Brooksville Family!

Welcome to the inaugural blog post on our new website!  I am so excited to share it with you!  Hopefully, the ramblings that myself and some of our staff post for you will be edifying and encouraging, as well as a little funny!

What can I say, the first six months of my time as your pastor have flown by!!  We have met so many amazing and godly people….we have made some absolutely life-long friends….and we have gained a new family!

Often I will greet everyone at our gatherings as “FBC Family”, because that is the way God wants us to see ourselves in the local church as well as the greater Kingdom.  Scripture calls us sons and daughters, and frequently uses the language of adoption.  We are most definitely part of a family!

However, don’t forget that just like any “biological” family, our “spiritual” family will share in some of the same joys as well as some of the same challenges. And just like in our biological family we are expected to love each other unconditionally, guide each other spiritually, and care for each other deeply….the same should be true of our FBC Family!  Always remember the words of Jesus:

“By this all men will know that you are My disciples,

if you have love for one another.

Thank you so much for welcoming Myself, Cyndi, Owen and Marin into your family and adopting us as one of your own!  It is and continues to be a blessing to our souls!  We are looking forward to all that God is going to do!

Blessings, Scott
