Local Missions

Tell-Teach-Transform is the mission of FBC Brooksville and Local Missions is an important part of that mission. The First Baptist Church of Brooksville has defined Local Missions as sharing the good news of Jesus and serving people anywhere in the state of Florida. Below are a few of the ministry partnerships that we are actively serving.

Clothes Closet

The Clothes Closet exists to provide gently used clothing and basic household essentials at no cost, sharing Christ’s compassion through hands-on service and caring relationships. Volunteers from our church family sort, organize, and distribute donated goods to individuals and families experiencing hardship. This ministry not only meets physical needs but also opens doors for prayer, encouragement, and relational connection with members of our community.

The Clothes Closet is open on Mondays from 9am until Noon. Donations can be dropped off during opening hours or at the church office during office hours. Monetary donations can be made through the church office.

Jericho Road

Jericho Road Ministries serves vulnerable individuals in crisis through shelters, recovery programs, food distribution, and social enterprises. Our partnership with Jericho Road allows us to express God’s love in practical ways, offering hope and healing. We assist by hosting food drives, leading Bible studies, and supporting seasonal events, extending care to those recovering from addiction, homelessness, and life-altering challenges.

Brooksville Elementary School

The Brooksville Elementary School Partnership builds meaningful relationships with students, families, and staff by providing resources, encouragement, and Christlike presence. Our ministry includes classroom support, staff appreciation efforts, and family outreach initiatives. We seek to serve as a steady presence in the school, modeling the love of Jesus and investing in the next generation.

A New Generation

A New Generation supports women facing pregnancy decisions by providing free, confidential education and care in a trusting, respectful space, grounded in Christ-centered compassion. Through counseling, ultrasounds, parenting classes, and material assistance, this ministry empowers women with truth, hope, and the resources they need to choose life and build healthy futures for their families.

Family Advocacy Ministry

The Family Advocacy Ministry at FBC Brooksville exists to support foster, adoptive, and kinship families as they care for vulnerable children. This ministry is built around two core components:

·         TBRI® (Trust-Based Relational Intervention®)
TBRI® is an attachment-based, trauma-informed intervention designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children. It uses Empowering Principles to address physical needs, Connecting Principles for attachment needs, and Correcting Principles to disarm fear-based behaviors. Though rooted in years of research in attachment, sensory processing, and neuroscience, the heartbeat of TBRI® is connection. TBRI® equips parents, caregivers, teachers, and ministry leaders with practical tools to see the “whole child” in their care and help that child reach their highest potential.

·         Community Care Teams
A Care Community is a structured, wraparound support system created to serve foster, adoptive, and kinship families. Each team is made up of 4–8 committed volunteers who act as extended family, providing consistent, practical support through specific roles such as meal delivery, child mentoring, prayer, and encouragement. We believe that children thrive best when the families who care for them are supported and strengthened.
